Objective:
Produce 175,000 glass shelves with a curved front
for Kendon's shelf products, which was featured in
gift catalogs for nearly 2 years.
Challenge:
The shelves had to be of a highly consistent size
and had to be made at a pace of 2,000 to 4,000 per
week. There was not a machine capable of producing
the high-quality edge that was desired at such a
pace.
Solution:
Mammen Glass designed and built a machine that was
able to meet our customers edgework demands - both
in terms of quantity and quality. After designing
the shape of the shelf using CAD software, we
utilized our cnc glass cutting system to produce
specially shaped pieces that were consistent in
size.
